Spring is finally here - at least for a day and a half before we get more rain. And here are the signs:
Well, actually these daffodills are no longer blooming. They're from a few weeks ago.
But I have these:
I had a long wait in the Amsterdam airport while coming back from last summer's British Isles cruise. While there, I purchased a (sanctioned for transport to the U.S.) package of mixed parrot tulip bulbs. I gave some out to friends and co-workers, but kept a dozen. I had three varieties come up: some corally pink ones that came up first but no longer bloom, the above mid-purple ones, and these gorgeous tulips:
Pale yellow and red striped. Absolutely beautiful.
Now if I could only get rid of all the weeds....

How beautiful! Now if you can get your sister to do a paper pieced wall hanging of that red striped beauty you'd be in great shape!
